MANGOCHI POLICE ARREST TWO MEN FOR SUSPECT OF THE MURDER

Police in Mangochi has in custody two men for suspect of murder. An angry mob vandalised Ligowe Police Unit in Neno demanding to have had in death of a women who died at the district hospital. The two suspects were the group village headman and another man only being identified as Machemba ,were being accused of practising witchcraft. Police has to use tear gas to disperse the mob, and later trasfer the two to an undisclosed safe place. Neno Police Station Spokesperson Sub Inspector Austin Kamwendo says investigations on the the matter are underway.

POLICE IN KASUNGU ARREST A 13 YEAR BOY FOR KILLING HIS GRANDMOTHER

      Police in Kasungu has arrested a 13 year old boy , Yelemia Salowana for killing his grandmother who is 78 years old identified as Likenya. According to Authorities the incident happened over k15000 the grandmother had recieved from the social cash trasfer program. The Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kasungu Police Fatsani Kalungama said the boy demanded the cash to use for tasks known to himself but the grandmother declined his quest Kalungama added that the grandmother headed for a nearby garden where she was followed by the boy who then assauted her to death ,took the money and buried her body within the garden.

POLICE OFFICER IN CHARGE FOR MCHINJI ARRESTED FOR ALLEGADLY DEFILING A 13

    Officer in charge for Mchinji Police border post ,Geogge Pindani has been arrested for allegadly defiling a 13 year old girl. Mchinji Police Station Officer Charles James Mpezeni has confirmed the issue but declined to give details as her reffered us to Central West Region Spokesperson Alfred Chimthere, who is yet to comment on the matter. Reports indicate that Superitendent Pindani allagadly difiled the girl more than once in january this year. The Officer ,who once worked as the Central East  Regional Community Policing Coordinator, has since been taken to Lilongwe and will appear before the court soon.

POLICE IN RUMPHI ARRESTED 23 ETHIOPIANS , ONE BRUNDIAN FOR ILLEGAL ENTRY ANMD THREE MALAWIAN FOR TRAFFICKING IN PERSON

                                            Police in Rumphi has arrested 23 Ethiopians ,one Brundian and three Malawians for allegal entry and trafficking in person. Rumphi Police Station Spokesperson Tupeliwe Kabwilo says the incident happened at Kafumbi area inside Nyika National Park. The three Malawians have been identified as Brian Mwenitete, 30 ,Mwenyesya Village , Chimbirani Mhango,25,Mwambuli Village both from Traditional Authority Kyungu in Kalonga and Mark Khukulu, 32 , Chatumbwa  Village in Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumphi . All suspects are being kept at Rumphi Police Station according to Kabwilo.

7 KILLED IN SHOOTOUT AS GUNMEN AMBUSH SOLDIERS IN MEXICO

  Five suspected criminals and two soldiers on saturday has been killed in a shootout after gunmen ambushed a military unit in southwest Mexico. The confrontation occurred Friday afternoon in the community of El Pescado, in a mountainous area of the state of Guerrero that is difficult to access and the scene of conflicts between criminal groups. A military unit "was the target of an attack by approximately 18 armed civilians aboard two vehicles," after which a shootout broke out, according to an army report. Five gunmen and two soldiers were killed while two people suffered gunshot wounds. According to local authorities, the attackers were likely members of La Familia Michoacana, which was formerly one of the most powerful drug cartels in Mexico but lost much of its influence after the capture of its leaders. POLICE IN MANGOCHI HAS IN CUSTODY TWO MEN BUSTED FOR ALLEGEDLY BEING FOUND IN POSSESSION OF DEAD PANGOLIN

                                         Men holding pangolin   Namwera Police post in Mangochi district has in custody two men  busted for allegedly being found in possession of a dead pangolin. Police Spokesperson Sub Inspector Amina Tepani Daudi who has identified the suspects as Affick John, 35 and Elias Janatu ,45, says the duo was apprehended on the night of 11 March 2023 around Chiponde trading centre in the district. '' On the said date , Namwera Police Detectives were tipped by members of the community that the men were offering for sale the listed species'',said Daudi.

THREE MEN SENTENCING TO PAY A FINE TO FIRST GRADE MAGISTRATE COURT IN BLANTYRE

  The Blantyre Agricultural Development Division ( ADD ) has hailed Thyolo First Grade Magistrate Court for sentencing three men to pay a fine of K 950 000 for traveling with 90 goats from Chikhwawa . Magistrate Kondwani Chinwngwa sentenced the three , Joseph Matabwa , Kalusa Makokola and Christopher Tebulowere after they were intercepted on Wednesday this week at Planter Tea Agency ( PTA) Police checkpoint after they packed the goats in two pick-up vehicles. In court , Thyolo Police State Prosecutor Sub- Inspector, Felix Sezani said the three committed two offences 

MAN KILLS ANOTHER MAN IN DEDZA

                                      A man  aged 28 has killed another man aged 27 in Dedza , by cuting his neck with an axe after missunderstandings about charcoal issues. This happen at Mchira Village Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza. According to group village Mchira says the deceased Tilope Ziyendammanja went to Chongoni Forest where he took 5bags of charcoal for his friend. This dissapointed the owner of the charcoal and kill him. A man is expected to answer the murder case ,said the police.                                                                                               

POLICE IN CHIKHWAWA ARREST A COUPLE FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING A 7 DAYS OLD BABY BOY

 Police in Chikhwawa have arrested a couple  for allegedly stealing a 7 days old baby boy. District  Police Publicist Sergeant Dickson Antenna has identified the suspects as Mavuto Smart, 33, from  Million Village in the Traditional Authority Tempani in Nsanje and Eliza Thendo , 20, from Thendo Traditional Authority Masache in Chikhwawa district. Matemba says the incident occurred on Tuesday at Million  Village on the boundary of Chikhwawa and Nsanje district  when a mother of a baby left the infant in the house while she went for a bath. However , when she returned she discovered that the baby was missing which prompted her to inform her husband who was at the garden and reported the matter to Thendo Police Unit who  latter arrested the duo. The baby has since been returned to his biological mother.    

POLICE IN BLANTYRE HAS ARREST TWO PEOPLE FOR BEING SUSPECT OF ROBBERS

 Police in Blantyre arrest two   people Chilima piloti and Chimwemwe Soya for suspected them to be robbers . According to Blantyre Police Station Spokesuperson Sub- Inspector Aubrey Singanyama says the two were emerged to meet at Joy Radio to still another house in CI, but the plan were cancelled because the the police were already known about their plan. He continues  to said that the police managed to shot one of the robbers so that they can easily catch him while the other is already in the hands of the Police.      

HIGH COURT JUDGE SENTENCED ANDREW NGOMWA TO 35 YEARS IMPRISONMENT

  High Court judge justice Ruth Chinwngwa has sentenced Andrew Ngomwa to 35 years imprisonment for defilement ,25 years for rape and 4 years for doing indicent act in the presence of a minor. One of the state lawyers Gift Msume ( in the picture)says they are satisfied with sentences which will run concurrently. Ngomwa former Chief Commercial Officer for the Medical Aid Society of Malawi, was convicted on 24 January 2022 for defiling and raping for his niece.         

POLICE IN MANGOCHI ARRESTED A MAN FOR MURDER

 Police in Mangochi District have arrested Daudi Mussa ,26, a Sienta taxi driver who is suspected to have murdered, Indrisa Kassim a well-known wheat seller,at Chikond trading center in district on 20 January 2923. According to Mangochi Police Station Spokesuperson Sub- Inspector Amina Tempani Daudi, says their preliminary investigations shows that Kassim in his frequent business errands, Mussa was always the driver. Daudi says it is reported that Kassim on January 17, 2023 went to Salima with his business partner, but left behind to collect cash while his partner returned the same day and was last seen on 20 January 2023 at Golomoti Trading center carrying two traveling bags believed to have contained millions of Kwachas in his way from Salima to Mangochi waiting to be picked by the suspect.          

TWO HERBALIST HAVE BEEN SENTENCED TO 3 YEARS IMPRISOMENT FOR HARD LABOUR

  Two herbalist in Dedza Julius Phiri aged 30 and Jafali William aged 27 have been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment with hard labour for fraud and false pretence. State Prosecutor Dickson Chipotle told the Court thatthe two obtained money from a man Identified as Mathews Mthamangira on grounds that they would bring back to life his daughter who died mysteriously at the age of 12 in 2019. The two pleaded guilty to the charge and asked court for leniency saying they are first offenders.     

A MAGISTRATE COURT IN MULANJE HAS SENTENCED A MAN FOR 19 YEARS

 The Senior Magistrate Court in Mulanje on Friday has convicted and sentenced a 40 year old man ,Charles Selenje to 19 years in prison for defiling his stepdaughter. Selenje who upon hearing that his step daughter had spilled the beans escaped to Mozambique, but he was apprehended by Malawians living in Mozambique who brought him to Malawi and surrendered him to the police. He pleaded guilty to the charge of defilement.

A MAN ARRESTED FOR CUTTING ELECTRICAL POLES

 Police in Lilongwe have arrested a 26 years old Nevas Chimphanje for cutting electrical poles. According to Lilongwe Police Station Sub- Inspector Hastings Chigalu says Chimphanje was arrested on 3 March 2023 by the Forest Rangers who were looking for Dzalanyama Forest. Chigalu continues to say that a man arrested while cutting five poles using an axe and he was convicted to steal electrical wire amounting to K9,750,0000.      

A MAN ARRESTED FOR SELLING HIS SISTER

 Police in Mangochi District have arrested a 25 year old Mphatso Baison  on suspicion that he was offering to sale his own sister at a price of k4.5 million . According to Mangochi Police Station Pro Inspector Amuna Tepani  Daudi it alleged that Baison on March 1 ,2023 approached one of the community policing members under Traditional Authority Mtima and pitched a business offer whose commodity was his own sister. The suspect lied that he was running out of cash,however he took to the chief before sneaking out and alerted the police. Baison comes from Chawanje Village in the area of Traditional Authority Ganya in Ntcheu district.       

HENRY MUSSA HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IMPRISONMENT

    The high Court has been sentenced Henry Mussa who is a former Minister of Information for five years imprisonment and Gideon Munthali who has also a former Minister of Information for six years imprisonment. The two were found guilty o October 2022 for missing out ten Computers and Genset which were received to Information department by MACRA. According to the High Court Judges , Mussa were found gulty of stealing government properties which is illegal to the book of Malawi Laws. Mussa were serving jaile now until they finish there jail, said the Judge.
