POLICE IN CHIKHWAWA ARREST A COUPLE FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING A 7 DAYS OLD BABY BOY

 Police in Chikhwawa have arrested a couple  for allegedly stealing a 7 days old baby boy.

District  Police Publicist Sergeant Dickson Antenna has identified the suspects as Mavuto Smart, 33, from  Million Village in the Traditional Authority Tempani in Nsanje and Eliza Thendo , 20, from Thendo Traditional Authority Masache in Chikhwawa district.

Matemba says the incident occurred on Tuesday at Million  Village on the boundary of Chikhwawa and Nsanje district  when a mother of a baby left the infant in the house while she went for a bath.

However , when she returned she discovered that the baby was missing which prompted her to inform her husband who was at the garden and reported the matter to Thendo Police Unit who  latter arrested the duo.

The baby has since been returned to his biological mother.
